Founder of Torcida Records Club, the Lisbon-based producer Bandicut displays the extent of his producer palette in an exclusive PAM Club.
Since 2017, Diogo Santos aka Bandicut has been making his mark within Lisbon’s Afro-electronic scene. It was in the early 2010s that the producer and DJ emerged – driven at the same time by American-Ecuadorian Dave Nada’s Moombathon sound, Diplo and his Mad Decent label and locals Buraka Som Sistema – before taking a break to rethink his artistic identity. Today, the native of Setúbal (a working class suburb south of the Portuguese capital) in entrenched in the afro club scene, managing to extract the best from the ever growing batida phenomenon and globalized influences. With numerous EPs to his credit, including the elegant Olissipo in collaboration with the Sierra Leonean producer Rolv.K., collabs on the latest compilations of the Parisian collective 99Ginger, or releases such as the Acanhado EP by Lokowat last year on his young label, each projects led by Bandicut is more exciting than the last. Heading up this week’s PAM Club, he takes the opportunity to shape a set made of his best productions and reveals some exclusives that we can’t wait to have in our playlists.
