Jamaican singer Jahshii drops “Shift Change”

Fresh off a series of hits, the artist assures it’s his turn to shine with this new track.

Jahshii is one of the new rising stars from Jamaica. While he has few tracks to his credit on streaming platforms, the artist is well identified locally, having notably participated in the Unruly Clash hosted by Popcaan in 2016. Arriving in the finals and not winning made him focus on his music, and he has since released a remarkable string of singles. “Cream of the Crop”, released in August, which had a particular resonance in Jamaica, accumulated almost five million views on Youtube.

Now he returns with “Shift Change”, accompanied by a video. Once again, the artist plays with dancehall and rap codes, fusing both sonically and visually for a fiery track. The video sees him rap and sing around flames, exemplifying the ambiance of the song.

Listen to “Shift Change” in our Pan African Rap playlist on Spotify and Deezer.
