PAM Club: A soulful journey through the land of afro diaspora sounds par Ms Mavy

After appearances on BBC and Rinse FM, Ms Mavy takes her shot at PAM, delivering an eclectic mix made for clubs, paying tribute to her roots with her personal favorites and own productions.

Born in France to a Guadeloupean mother and a Cameroonian father, Maeva has always been passionate about music, as far back as she can remember. From the practice of the flute and dance at the age of 5, the young girl grew up learning the piano, Guadeloupean gwo-ka and singing. On the road to cultural enrichment and in contact with her parents, she absorbed multiple influences, which helped her forge her artistic personality: from Admiral T’s dancehall to Kassav’s zouk, via French variety or American pop giants such as Michael Jackson or Whitney Houston, the one who now calls herself Ms Mavy put her talents to the test by producing her own EPs and mixtapes since a young age. Now based near Brussels in Belgium, this discreet artist with many talents recently appeared with the British Kensaye and alongside Branko on the single “AUX”, taken from his album OBG released in 2022.

Also worth noting is that Ms Mavy is the co-founder of the startup Afroplug, an application that offers royalty-free samples. Now used by more than 25,000 musicians around the world, this library of more than 15,000 samples contains loops from renowned producers who have worked with Burna Boy, Ozuna, Russ, Ayra Starr or Ckay. It offers everything you need to compose your own Afrobeats, dancehall, reggae, baile, amapiano and other fashionable or sometimes underrepresented trends. It is in this spirit of opening up that she sends us this mix centered on future beats and the afro-diasporic rhythms, with a long look towards Latin America and the Caribbean!
