Teyana Taylor shares "Still", a highly symbolic new visual

Teyana Taylor stands against racism and police brutality in the powerful video for “Still”.

Directed by Spike Tey, the video is an ode to the Black Lives Matter movement and mixes actual footage from the protests around the country, to speeches by Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and video of police brutality.

In the video, Teyana Taylor portrays Black civil rights leaders Malcom X and Huey P. Newton, along recent victims of police killings, Breonna Taylor, Trayvon Martin, Elijah McClain playing his violin and George Floyd in the footage of his death.

“Still” appears on Taylor’s latest LP, The Album, which arrived on Juneteenth (June 19), a day commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. It features collaborations with Erykah Badu, Davido, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Future, and more.

Listen to ‘Still in our Songs of the Week playlist on Spotify and Deezer.
