Rising afropop artist Joeboy in an apocalyptic Lagos for 'Call' music video

Nigerian Afropop’s most promising rookie unveils dystopian visuals from his upcoming album.

“Call” is one more love song in the repertoire of this very romantic artist. Produced by Dera, the song captures the innocence of young love and introduces a darker, more urgent edge to Joeboy’s sound.

Directed by TG Omori, heavyweight filmmaker, the video places place Joeboy in an almost apocalyptic sci-fi Lagos, alternating between crowded streets, dark tunnels and desert expanses on the outskirts of the megalopolis.

After being discovered by Mr Eazi’s emPawa program, Joeboy continues to create his path, to becoming one of African music’s brightest new stars. “Call,” is the lead single from his upcoming debut album, slated for release this summer via Banku Music/emPawa Africa. It follows 2019’s Love & Light EP, with the “Don’t Call Me Back” featuring Mayorkun.
