BANTU calls for a rallying cry in 'Disrupt The Programme'

BANTU unveils the single “Disrupt The Programme” which announces their album Everybody Get Agenda, to be released later this year.

The Lagos-based 13-piece band BANTU, led by Nigerian German singer and social activist Ade Bantu, is back on the scene three years after their successful album. After international tours and collaborations with renowned artists such as Burna Boy, Yemi Alade and Seun Kuti, the Nigerian band presents this brand new single, an energetic afrofunk and afrobeat groove interspersed with sharp brass instruments that shape their style.

A song with a strong message to invite people to wake up and fight against the incidents of insurrection, kidnapping, corruption and electoral fraud that have shaken the country. The clip shows a protest with Nigerians in the streets, fists and signs in the air. The group’s leader said in an interview: : “The freedom of expression, the right to protest and of peaceful assembly is being threatened in Nigeria. ‘Disrupt the Programme’ and its video remind us that in the face of social and political injustice, we cannot afford to be silent”.
