Moroccan singer Oum El Ghaït Ben Essahraoui announces an awaited album with an outstanding new single.
Marrakech-born singer Oum released her debut album in 2009, then quickly propelled her career to an international level, becoming a legitimate ambassador for Moroccan music.
Drawing her inspiration from the gnawa universe and cultures from the desert, mixing them with jazzy harmonizations and African rhythms played by her band.
Recorded in Berlin in the Jazzanova studios, new single “Daba” gives a new deepness to Oum’s music. The album also benefits from the collaboration with poetess, singer and oud player Kamilya Jubran as an art director for the project.
« Daba » means “now” in Moroccan. In the music video, she mourns the past and gives a message of hope, inviting the listeners to enjoy the present and love fellow beings.
