The ambassador of the Ghanaian electronic scene offers respite on “Like Chili,” a new track featuring the young Ghanaian singer Odartei.
This mix of soft, satin vocals, highlife grooves and Latin riffs propels us right up amongst the clouds. With bewitching aerial soundscapes, Gafacci continues a constant evolution in his electronic music, which of course includes Afro touches, but also opens up to Latin sounds, as evidenced on this new single.
His knowledge of the world music scene doesn’t take away from the Ghanaian asokpor style on which he has been building his reputation for the past 10 years. The producer and DJ has worked and collaborated with local and international artists such as Sarkodie, Branko, Fever Ray and Ice Prince and owns his own label Clam Clam. This mastermind of successful projects nevertheless keeps a resolutely underground state of mind and maintains all the freshness of his beginnings. Here, he shows once again that success lies beyond the comfort zone.
