Serge Ibaka, Diamond Platnumz and Mohombi join forces on the explosive “Tayari”

The NBA superstar continues to tease his ART project, this time finessing sounds from East Africa.

Over the past few months, Serge Ibaka, known for his NBA exploits with the Toronto Raptors and the Los Angeles Clippers, has dropped several clips featuring African and Afro-diasporic artists. The ART project is at the origin of this approach, aiming to launch initiatives in favour of Africa with artists from the continent, the Caribbean and the Americas. As a reminder, the basketball player is of Congolese origin and seems to carry his homeland in his heart.

After videos with French-based singers and rappers (Tayc, Ninho, Guy2bezbar), the basketball player returns today with “Tayari”, accompanied by Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz and Mohombi, a Swedish singer of Congolese origin. The track, although aimed at the continent’s clubs, seems to draw its inspiration from the Colombian and Puerto Rican music currently in vogue. Not surprising knowing that gengetone, a hybrid genre of Kenyan genge and Latin reggaeton, is rampant from Kenya to Tanzania.

Listen to “Tayari” in our One Dance playlist on Spotify and Deezer.
