The wait is finally over for new music from Los Angeles based multi-talented artist Teebs, aka Mtendere Mandowa.
Set for release on October 25 via Brainfeeder, Anicca will feature collaborations with Panda Bear, Ringo Ancheta (aka MNDSGN) and Sudan Archives, who Teebs calls “a scary genius who deserves the world’s ears and eyes”. Panda Bear from Animal Collective appears on first etheral and cloudy single “Studie”.
According to a press release, the LP’s title stems from the Buddhist concept of impermanence, a characteristic integral to achieving enlightenment. “It’s a reminder to myself that nothing is permanent”, he states. Other inspiration sources include his relationships with his family and friends, his past mistakes and poet David Antin’s 1976 work Talking at the Boundaries. “My relationships with my wife, mother, brother, and the friends around me, and the mistakes I’ve made through my life have all inspired Anicca,” he explains.
