WurlD drops video for “LET YOU DOWN” ahead of new album

The blue-haired singer converts his mini-EP MWWU into a full length album, with three singles available now.

In August 2021, WurlD had dropped the two-track EP MWWU, composed of the two love songs “SPUNK” and “STAMINA”. In “SPUNK”, the Nigerian singer addressed an insecure partner, assuring her on a sensual instrumental that she still “got that spunk” that would make him “do anything for her”. On the second track, he expressed his emotions with a new twist brough by South African duo Major League Djz and LuuDaDeejay, who added a joyful amapiano ambiance.

A few months after this pleasant offering, the Afrosoul artist returned last Friday with “LET YOU DOWN”. Produced by Nigerian wonderkid P.Priime, this fast Afrobeats track tells the story of a conflictual relationship between two lovers, as the black and white video adds frenetic dancing and intensity to the overall frenzied ambiance.

WurlD also took the opportunity of this new song to announce his upcoming album: My WorlD With U. In addition to the art cover, little is known about the project: it will be composed of 19 tracks, including “STAMINA” and “SPUNK”, and will be unveiled in March. Here’s what the singer told GQ South Africa about the album: “My WorlD With U is gonna take everyone on the wildest emotional ride. I’m flawed and vulnerable as I’ve ever been while taking the listeners through my private life journey. This is my most personal project to date.”

My WorlD With U by WurlD, out on March 11.
