Heads Records – South African Disco-Dub Edits pays tribute to the short-lived Heads label out of South Africa.
Started and run by the late South African producer and singer Emil Zoghby, Heads label was in activity only between 1982 and 1984. During this period, the label managed to release a handful of records before folding.
This new Soundway EP features Starlight’s original track “Picnic” (a single whose B side “Picnicing”, featured on Gumba Fire) and edits by New York’s JKriv (Deep & Disco Recordings / Razor-N-Tape) and Frankie Francis (Sofrito Sound), whose magic touch on last year’s edit of Steve Monite “Only You” was one of Soundway’s most popular releases of 2017.
