Sauti Sol unveils 'Suzanna', first single extract from new album

The Afro-pop band recently signed with Universal Music Group and are currently preparing their next album Midnight Train.

This new deal means that Sauti Sol will have access to new networks around the world, wider audiences and new opportunities. Midnight Train will therefore probably have to meet more global requirements.

In a disco style, the song has the classic ingredients of the band’s hits. Bien-Aimé Baraza, Willis Chimano, Polycarpe Otieno and Savara Mudigi sing here for Suzanna, their girlfriend who disappeared, “changed her skin colour” and whose “hair is longer”.

This expected new album Midnight Train follows the huge success of 2019 album Afrikan Sauce a standout album featuring artists from the four corners of the continent (Burna Boy, C4 Pedro, Mi Casa, Toofan…). Sipho Dlamini, UMA Managing Director, reacted with great enthusiasm to the deal: “we look forward to working with them so that they can celebrate Africa authentically (…) to new listeners all over the world“.
