Lojay and Sarz explore unlikely love on single

On “Tonongo,” the two Nigerians express their affection for an independent and sensual woman.

In Nigeria, Lojay and the producer Sarz, who has previously collaborated with Beyoncé, Burna Boy, Drake, Skepta and Wizkid, team up for an ode to love, titled “Tonongo.” On this track, Sarz reveals his romanticism, recounting his own experience as a man in love with a stripper. Lojay explains the message of the track: “‘Tonongo’ expresses the depth of emotion that lies beneath the surface. The single was inspired by the atmosphere of a strip club – dark and moody – a fitting ode to the dancer that inspired the writing of this song. I love the duality of this track. It ended up building itself and that’s the beauty of it, the beauty of the music. It’s so spiritual. I’m just a vessel. I hope people can relate to it and find beauty in it.”

Listen to Lojay and Sarz in our One Dance playlist on Spotify and Deezer.
