The English drum and bass icon unveils the visuals of his collaboration with Ms Dynamite, Ms Banks and Jaykae.
Born during the rave movement of the 90s in Bristol, Hugh Pescod aka Redlight aka CLIPZ grew up in an era when sound systems and dubplates were emerging. He started in the early 2000s under the pseudonym DJ Clipz and has collaborated with drum and bass legends such as Roni Size, DJ Krust, DJ Die and many others, and has produced himself on his own label, Audio Zoo Recordings.
Directed by Dan Emmerson, the innovative visual was shot during the lockdown and features a series of vibrant animations. The clip features Ms Banks and Jaykae, who filmed their own performances on iPhone, as well as footage from CLIPZ’s Notting Hill Carnival with Ms Dynamite.
The video was cleverly put together by New York based animator Leon Washere and the team printing and hand painting each frame, with the individual painting then being rescanned in and turned into video files.
