The South African artist is back with a third afro-folk album, Zange, blending popular and traditional music in an unique way.
After two nominations for the South African Music Awards in 2013 following the release of his first album Umlilo and his award in 2018 for his second album, Mangaliso, the Tsolo-born artist is back with a third project.
Zange was written on the road, during his tour, pretty quickly : a new kind of creative process for the artist. As shown in “Zange”, the first single taken from the eponym album, Bongeziwe is one of the leading figures of the new afro-folk scene.
He blends isiXhosa lyrics with unique and captivating melodies in a very introspective album, dealing with personal issues such as love relationships and time passing by.
