Based in Nairobi, DJ Shock opens a South African portal with a mix dedicated to deep-house label, Stay True Sounds.
Jacqueline Mugo has been immersed in music since her childhood when she played the piano, the guitar and the percussions. She then learned DJing in a scholastic fashion at the Homeboyz DJ Academy, developing eclectic tastes she’s not afraid to display. Able to move from gospel to mainstream hits and from traditional music to the latest electro hits, DJ Shock has made it her profession, regularly performing behind the decks in Nairobi’s bars and clubs. She also founded Disc Jockeys East Africa (ADJ-EA) and Business DJ, two mentoring platforms for up-and-coming DJs, especially women. For this episode of the PAM Club, she chose to focus her mix on the label Stay True Sounds, reference in South African deep-house, with a selection based on melody and emotion!
