Egyptian avant‑gardist ZULI releases single ahead of EP

ZULI, one of Cairo’s leading artists, has released the intriguing “Keen Demag,” a track announcing his new EP All Caps.

His EP All Caps has been a long-term project. Indeed, after releasing his critically acclaimed debut double LP ‘Terminal’ — the plan for ZULI was to follow up with a dancefloor-focused 12″. 4 months after the release of Terminal, with the follow-up record ready to go to mastering, ZULI’s gear was stolen and the record was lost, along with a year’s worth of work from his sound and instrument library. He would spend the following year building his soundworld back up again.. The results were finalized here in ZULI’s 4th EP All Caps to be released on Lee Gamble UIQ record label.

ZULI most recently launched his own platform irsh together with Rama where they released their first compilation, ‘did you mean: irish’ highlighting the talent in and around Cairo, which included one solo track from ZULI himself. As vanguard in the scene in Cairo, his unique style of sample work, jungle, grime, and glitch is unrivalled.

The release is scheduled for March 12, via UIQ. Pre-order the album here and find ZULI in our Songs of the Week playlist on Spotify and Deezer.
