On January 15, through a shared post on his Instagram account, the enigmatic artist Slingbaum announced the release of his debut album entitled Slingbaum One. This album is broken up into three tracks: “Behoove,” featuring two huge neo-soul names with Erykah Badu and D’Angelo, “Strangers,” which features appearances by FKA twigs, Oumou Sangaré, Nick Hakim and Questlove, and finally “Morphine,” which will close the project with guest appearances by Damon Albarn, Bilal, Syd and legendary pianist Ahmad Jamal.
In the description of the same post, the mysterious Slingbaum sent a few pieces of information about his project: “Today I humbly present my first record. This is the result of years of work shared with the individuals listed with whom it was the greatest pleasure of my life to work with. We are selling this record once in this short pre-sale window and we have no plans to sell beyond this window or make it available digitally (to stream).”
Slingbaum One is a vinyl-only release and is available for pre-order now on the artist’s website. Discover the album artwork below.
