Okzharp and Manthe Ribane is producer Gervase Gordon a.k.a. Okzharp, vocalist, artist and dancer Manthe Ribane. Photographer and film maker Chris Saunders – who recently made stunning videos for Malian diva Oumou Sangaré – also work closely with them. T they all hail from South Africa, where Manthe still resides, although Okzharp lives in London where he is a DJ and producer. He already have two EP signed on Kode9’s imprint, Hyperdub.
Directed by Chris Saunders & Cool Your Jets, music video “Kubona” is the first single of Okzharp and Manthe Ribane’s upcoming album. The result is a genius piece of pixel art animation that perfectly fit with Hyperdub’s spirit.
New album Closer Apart will be out on July, 6th 2018.
