Tunisian producer Deena Abdelwahed unveils an experimental visual for ‘Insaniyti’, taken from Dhakar EP.
On “Insanity”, Deena Abdelwahed was inspired by the Mezwed, a genre of popular traditional music based on North African Amazigh scale rhythms. It incorporates traditional Tunisian drums and it is usually sung in Tunisian linguistic varieties. The themes of Mezwed are social, typically: immigration, racism, family and love. Themes that we can find in ‘Insaniyti’.
Directed by Thakone Soum, the video features generated colorful shapes sync to the track that morphs the animation, from simple shapes to complex animations. All these different assets act as so many actors embodying the rhythm and cadence of the music.
‘Insaniyti’ is taken from Dhakar EP, already available on InFiné.
