Iconic Orchestra Boabab pays tribute to their late singer

Orchestra Boabab returns with Tribute To Ndiouga Dieng on the label World Circuit Records.

Ten years after their last album and almost 50 years since their formation, Senegal’s Orchestra Baobab return with a timeless set of classic, swaying tunes fusing Afro-Cuban rhythms and African tradition in the group’s trademark style. Recorded in Dakar, the album is didicated to Ndiouga Dieng, one of the bands original vocalists who sadly died in November 2016. But the singer’s musical legacy is in good hands. His son Alpha now sings in the band. In this way the adventure of one of the best dance-band can still go on.
