Since the beginning, Naira Marley has always distinguished himself by his taste for raw messages and provocation. Through hits like “Soapy” or “Pxta”, the rapper has almost made it his trademark, making regular headlines for various controversies.
“IdiOremi” is clearly in line with the star’s usual style. With its frenetic rhythm, crass lyrics and nonchalant flow, the song was even subtitled “Opotoyi 2”, named after a 2019 song that served as the anthem for the artist’s unconditional fanbase, the “Marlians”. The new track, whose title roughly translates to “my friend’s bum”, was produced by Rexxie, the rapper’s longtime beatmaker and sidekick. Naira Marley alternates between humor and provocation as he discusses the ins and outs of a purely carnal relationship. After “Aye” and “As E Dey Go”, this potential new hit is the 3rd single of the EP “B2DS (Belong 2 Da Streets)”, scheduled for the end of the year. A project that Nigerians hope to enjoy in nightclubs rather than confined in their homes…
