The new video comes with a release date for the rapper’s long-awaited upcoming album, Madina To The Universe.
Following “La Vida,” “Scorpio Flow” is a head-bopping statement track from M.anifest. Over a sleek, drum-heavy instrumental, the Madina native reminds fans and peers of his dominance in the African music ecosystem. The rapper is clearly in top form, deploying intricate wordplay, assured cadence and multiple flows.
“‘Scorpio Flow’ is a reminder,” M.anifest confirms. “A reminder that underneath my cool exterior is a sea of untamed fire. I muse about being Scorpio a lot and this is my musical representation of that musing; untamed, relentless, and ferocious when it comes to my art.” The artist also gives some insight into how the track came about, adding that “the album was already done when ‘Scorpio Flow’ was recorded. It was supposed to be a random freestyle but it felt so immediate and an important addition to the album. It’s crazy it ended up as a single.”
Continuing to put his hometown of Madina on the map throughout this album rollout, M.anifest has returned to the place that shaped his formative years for the accompanying music video, as “raw and minimal as the track itself. We went straight into my hood, mixtape-style, and just captured a vibe.” The track sets the stage for M.anifest’s highly anticipated fifth studio album, Madina To The Universe (MTTU), which has been slated for release on October 28.
