Read on for more info.<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>On the one hand, a German electro trio steeped in industrial rock, ambient, and breakbeat; on the other, an Egyptian rapper whose pen drips with the ink of revolution. Carl Gari \u2013 made up of Jonas Yamer, Till Funke, and Jonas Friedlich \u2013 and the author Abdullah Miniawy have once more crossed swords in the studio. After the acclaimed EPs <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=XzSBFybIqYQ&amp;list=PL9vrwONlRdlOY-vvHJRUBWVSY8BsQj58S&amp;ab_channel=CaLMCee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Darraje<\/a><\/em> and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/4KuL0vsT4U1vuKUGYszRI0?autoplay=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Act of Falling from the 8th Floor<\/a>,<\/em> the quartet has just released <em>Between The Bullet And The Front Sight, Casting Lots<\/em>. It\u2019s eight tracks of pulsating spoken word supported by thick layers of digital sound, at times anxiety-inducing, always powerful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<p><iframe style=\"border: 0; width: 100%; height: 120px;\" src=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/album=1742218177\/size=large\/bgcol=ffffff\/linkcol=0687f5\/tracklist=false\/artwork=small\/transparent=true\/\" seamless=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"><a href=\"https:\/\/moltenmoods.bandcamp.com\/album\/cg01-between-the-bullet-and-the-front-sight-casting-lots-live-at-haus-der-kunst\">CG01 Between The Bullet And The Front Sight, Casting Lots (Live At Haus Der Kunst) by Carl Gari &amp; Abdullah Miniawy<\/a><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Abdullah Miniawy, a poet and activist in exile<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Possessing a voice that is free and expressive with undertones of Sufism, Abdullah Miniawy was born in 1994 in Saudi Arabia, but grew up in the oasis town of El-Fayoum, southwest of Cairo. A poet, singer, composer, and \u2013 above all \u2013 an activist, he has rocked stages in Egypt as well as social networks on the fringes of revolutionary movements. In 2016, he left Cairo to settle in Europe. In Paris he\u2019s collaborated with the electric oud player Mehdi Haddab of the group Speed Caravan, as well as with rapper Marc Nammour from La Canaille. In 2017, Abdullah moved into a studio with \u00c9rik Truffaz. The following year he presented his creation <em>Le Cri du Caire <\/em>at the Avignon Festival in the excellent company of multi-instrumentalists Peter Corser, Sarsten Hochapfel, and the French neo-Klezmer clarinettist, Yom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2018, the singer teamed up with bass music producer Simo Cell. In 2020, the duo released the excellent six-track album <em><a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/2szZuRX3qCfu77KMW1sHOl?si=e4lRHIHCS-yUdi9FNgntnQ&amp;nd=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kill Me Or Negotiate.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Between The Bullet And The Front Sight, Casting Lots <\/em>is the third collaboration between Abdullah Miniawy and Carl Gari.
