Co-founded by multi-instrumentalist David Kiledjian, Lyon-based singer-songwriter of Martinique origin Olivya Victorin, French-Guadalopean drummer, saxophonist and bandleader Rapha\u00ebl Philibert and Greg Boudras, the band has already released two projects with their 2019 EP <em><a href=\"https:\/\/dowdelinmusic.bandcamp.com\/album\/poul-w-l-l\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Poul W\u00e9l\u00e9l\u00e9<\/a><\/em>, drawing inspiration from modern jazz and alt-pop with an omnipresent Creole twist.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their upcoming album <em>Lanmou Lanmou<\/em> will pulse Afro-Caribbean polyrhythms with Creole jazz and future-funk grooves, representing the \u201c<em>possibility of hearing the same melodies in traditional African music, as we do in music from the west today<\/em>\u201d. The single \u201cSim\u00e9 Love\u201d and &#8220;On Nou Al\u00e9&#8221;, already available, exemplify well the direction the band is taking, with the importance of love as a central theme &#8211; in Creole French, \u201cSim\u00e9 Love\u201d stands for \u201cspread love\u201d and \u201cLanmou Lanmou\u201d translates to \u201cLove Love\u201d.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<iframe style=\"border: 0; width: 100%; height: 120px;\" src=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/album=1668869091\/size=large\/bgcol=ffffff\/linkcol=0687f5\/tracklist=false\/artwork=small\/transparent=true\/\" seamless=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dowdelinmusic.bandcamp.com\/album\/lanmou-lanmou\">Lanmou Lanmou by Dowdelin<\/a><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>Touring, performing live really shaped the sound of Lanmou Lanmou<\/em>.\u201d explains David Kiledjian. \u201c<em>The first album, we were still figuring out our sound but here, everybody in the band understood their role and the kind of music we\u2019re dealing with.
