{"id":93355,"date":"2021-12-01T11:41:01","date_gmt":"2021-12-01T09:41:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/?p=93355"},"modified":"2021-12-01T11:41:07","modified_gmt":"2021-12-01T09:41:07","slug":"gaika-war-island","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/gaika-war-island\/","title":{"rendered":"Gaika takes over London\u2019s Institute of Contemporary Arts with War Island"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The South London artist has announced a new audiovisual exhibition, introducing a first listen to the exhibits soundtrack via single \u201cZat\u014dichi\u201d.&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/tag\/gaika\/?_per_page=17\">Gaika<\/a>\u2019s debut album <em>Basic Volume<\/em> was released in July 2018 by Warp Records, followed by numerous scores for film, TV, contemporary dancers, and the production of the lead track for the films <em>Share <\/em>and <em>Sprinter<\/em>. He has also participated in group exhibitions, and dabbles as a fiction writer. His new work, <em>War Island<\/em>, is part of the Nine Nights initiative <em>Channel B<\/em>, a series of exhibitions running since September. It also bears an autobiographical dimension, making parallels with his journey in art and rap.
