{"id":92917,"date":"2021-11-24T15:38:03","date_gmt":"2021-11-24T13:38:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/?p=92917"},"modified":"2021-11-24T16:30:36","modified_gmt":"2021-11-24T14:30:36","slug":"laliboi-and-volume-xam-deluxe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/laliboi-and-volume-xam-deluxe\/","title":{"rendered":"Laliboi and Volume upgrade their Xam EP"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In celebration of their common EP coming to all streaming platforms, the two South African artists invite four local electronic artists to remix a song of their choice from the project.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/tag\/laliboi\/\">Laliboi<\/a> and Volume met in 2015 through their respective bands (Radio 123 and Go Barefoot) sharing the stage in Johannesburg and Vosloorus. At the end of 2018, both got together in the studio with Morena Leraba, resulting in the title track \u201cXam\u201d. This lead to an original EP titled <em>Xam, <\/em>released exclusively on Bandcamp in May 2020. The project featured four tracks now being remixed by local talents such as MOJVKI, Tzara, Vox Portent and Charles Gene Suite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<iframe style=\"border: 0; width: 100%; height: 120px;\" src=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/album=3903686042\/size=large\/bgcol=ffffff\/linkcol=0687f5\/tracklist=false\/artwork=small\/transparent=true\/\" seamless=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"><a href=\"https:\/\/volumesa.bandcamp.com\/album\/xam\">Xam by Laliboi X Volume<\/a><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Xam <\/em>comes from the name of the symbol and material used by traditional healers in South Africa. It refers to the skin of the monitor lizard used in traditional medicine and healing.
