{"id":86748,"date":"2021-09-07T15:12:35","date_gmt":"2021-09-07T13:12:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/?p=86748"},"modified":"2021-09-07T15:15:12","modified_gmt":"2021-09-07T13:15:12","slug":"kid-x-jukebox","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/kid-x-jukebox\/","title":{"rendered":"Kid X drops South African party anthem \u201cJukebox\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The South African Music Award-winning rapper turns up the volume with a new single featuring Moozlie, which teases his upcoming album <em>Father of Zen<\/em>.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJukebox\u201d is Kid X\u2019s musical attempt at the ultimate South African party experience. \u201c<em>Our party culture is fuelled by music and \u2018Jukebox\u2019 is really about all that happens at a party,<\/em>\u201d he said about the track. \u201c<em>In our taverns, most of the time, there is the pool table scenario, alcohol gets served, and usually music is played off the jukebox. I wanted to capture the South African party culture in one song<\/em>.\u201d To capture this atmosphere, Kid X joined forces with rapper and TV presenter Moozlie on the second verse. \u201c<em>Working with Moozlie is always great<\/em>! <em>&nbsp;She brings a feisty Kasi [township] energy to the music and this is our third record together. I felt like this record sounds dope as it is, but I needed someone to represent the girls from ekasi [the township] who dream of coming up and doing it big. The girls who like to look fly and dress up, put themselves out there in a dope way with a clean aesthetic. Moozlie was obviously the perfect candidate and she knocked it out with a fire verse<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJukebox\u201d is the first single from Kid X\u2019s upcoming album, <em>Father of Zen<\/em>, scheduled for release on October 1st. The 13 track offering, which will represent the rapper\u2019s third studio album, reflects the journey and state-of-mind of the artist and discusses healing, awareness and mindfulness.
