Following the release of his new album, Djourou<\/em>, a few months ago, the kora ambassador shines a spotlight on Malian music at the famous Berlin studio.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Ballak\u00e9 Sissoko is one of Mali\u2019s most famous artists. His performance for Colors<\/a> Show sees him highlight the sweetness of his favorite instrument, the kora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For his latest album, Djourou<\/em>, released last April, he brought together several artists, such as the French-Malian rapper, Oxmo Puccino, his British and Gambian niece, Sona Jobarteh, and the Frenchman Vincent S\u00e9gal. On the album\u2019s title, he explained: “Djourou (the rope) is a metaphor for the union of those I have brought together so that we are bound by the same rope to achieve something that shows the right path for everyone, that we are united by a beautiful spirit, to fulfill the exhortation of those who gave us life.<\/em>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n
