Though a metal radio station existed a few years ago, the band feels that metal music is generally perceived as satanic in the country: &#8220;<em>People are tired and they\u2019re fucking bored.<\/em>&#8221;&nbsp; In response, Sam Karugu offers: &#8220;<em>fucked up music that I\u2019ve never heard before.<\/em>&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div><div><div><iframe style=\"border: 0; width: 100%; height: 120px;\" src=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/album=504143940\/size=large\/bgcol=ffffff\/linkcol=0687f5\/tracklist=false\/artwork=small\/transparent=true\/\" seamless=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dumake.bandcamp.com\/album\/cannis\">Cannis by Duma<\/a><\/iframe><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p> Their self-titled debut album, released on Nyege Nyege Tapes in 2020, made a deep impression. Pitchfork even stated that &#8220;<em>few records released this year capture both the chaos and anxiety of our current moment so well.<\/em>&#8221; In <em>Sub Pop Singles Club Vol. 6<\/em>, &#8220;Cannis&#8221; and &#8220;Mbukinya&#8221; expose the underground metal scene of the African continent through a subtle mix of genres, built through guitars, trap-electro and drums \u2013 a transformative cocktail of metal, punk and electronic music.
