The video for “Where You Come From” marks the latest release from the Palestinian-born American artist, a tribute to Rastafarianism alongside great Jamaican artists. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The New Orleans-native unveils his twelfth album, “Khaled Khaled,” which he released last Friday. He defines this new project as a “gift for the world,<\/em>” and is pictured on an Islamic prayer mat next to his children on the album cover proud of his “name<\/em>” as well as his “heritage.<\/em>” As usual, DJ Khaled surrounds himself with many artists, including Cardi B, Drake<\/a>, H.E.R., Jay-Z, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, Lil Wayne and Nas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also dedicates the entire video to Jamaica, which he says he has a deep love for. Bringing together three great monuments of Jamaican music on the same record for the first time, DJ Khaled finally follows one of Capleton’s commandments that “music is a mission, not a competition,<\/em>” They instantly plunge us into the green universe of Kingston \u2013 green being one of the colors of the Jamaican flag and of Islam. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The song is deeply spiritual, with Bounty Killer, Buju Banton and Capleton chanting, “Rastafari, ever safe and secure.<\/em>” Capleton sees his mission as “spreading the word of Rastafari around the world and taking reggae to another level,<\/em>” leading to his image as a true spiritual guide for young Rastas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
