{"id":62369,"date":"2020-10-12T18:27:29","date_gmt":"2020-10-12T16:27:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/?p=62369"},"modified":"2020-10-12T18:29:25","modified_gmt":"2020-10-12T16:29:25","slug":"blaqbonez-bbc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/blaqbonez-bbc\/","title":{"rendered":"Blaqbonez releases provocative new track, \u201cBBC\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Nigerian rapper crosses boundaries with flair and ease on his new and suggestive track &#8220;BBC&#8221; \u2013 the first single from a forthcoming EP on the Chocolate City label. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Presented by the New York Times as &#8220;the new guardian of Nigerian music,&#8221; Blaqbonez unabashedly proclaims himself as the best rapper in Africa in a track called &#8220;Bria,&#8221; which stands for exactly that: &#8220;Best Rapper In Africa.&#8221; Released in 2019, this song&nbsp; created real buzz, awakening the competitive spirit in other rappers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Akumefule Chukwu-Emeka, aka Blaqbonez, has been making music since 2011, when he sent for a friend through an improvised verse. In retrospect, it wasn&#8217;t his best work, the Imo native admits, but he won the battle all the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Blaqbonez - BBC (Official Audio)\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/N5sLk-4nJ-4?feature=oembed&#038;autoplay=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption>Blaqbonez &#8211; BBC<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;BBC&#8221; is his second single of the year after &#8220;Haba,&#8221; released in March along with a viral, provocative video . This new track is imbued with Caribbean influences, and the rapper pushes his provocative style even further with a euphemistic title.
