The feature makes Fireboy the first Nigeria based artist to appear on the FIFA 21 soundtrack which is set to launch worldwide on October 9th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The song has already accumulated 30+ million streams across platforms and appears on his debut album Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps.

FIFA has long been infamous for its refined selection of music on its soundtrack which has an enormous reach. FIFA is one of the best selling video game franchises in the world, FIFA 18 totalling over 260 million copies sold since its release and the most recent FIFA 20 being the largest physical video game release of 2019.

Fireboy DML – « Scatter »

A feature on the FIFA soundtrack can give a huge international boost to artists as the game is sold in mass worldwide, giving exposure to markets difficult to reach organically like Brazil or the Netherlands.

More importantly, a selection for the soundtrack means the song will be a part of many young people’s lives for a significant time and join the ranks of superstars from Skepta to The Gorillaz as global tastemakers.

Speaking on the soundtrack, EA’s president of music Steve Schnur said in a recent GOAL interview, “Everybody’s a music fan, and within soccer, there are no geographical boundaries.
