{"id":56470,"date":"2020-07-24T14:50:48","date_gmt":"2020-07-24T13:50:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/?p=56470"},"modified":"2020-07-24T14:51:23","modified_gmt":"2020-07-24T13:51:23","slug":"maya-amolo-lush-green","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/maya-amolo-lush-green\/","title":{"rendered":"Maya Amolo unveils the \u201cLush Green\u201d video"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The New-York based Kenyan singer drops the first visual from her debut EP, <em>Leave Me At The Pregame<\/em>.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Maya Amolo started out by collaborating with producers on the internet to create \u201csad-gal\u201d tunes on SoundCloud, including \u201cU Wanna\u201d and \u201cWhere Tornados Flew\u201d as well as Lo-Fi voicemail with \u201cNorth Star (part 1&amp;2)\u201d and \u201cRainy Daze\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The singer quickly amassed a dedicated listenership and garnered the attention of local artists, producers and musicians, among whom was Kenya\u2019s famed RnB artist Karun. On July 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, she released <em>Leave Me At The Pregame<\/em>, her first body of work, in which she takes us through a melodious journey of self-acceptance and healing. \u201cLush Green\u201d is the EP\u2019s fourth track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLush Green\u201d is a Kamau Wanaina produced song supported by subtle tinkering beats. In her lyrics, Maya explores the feelings that come with being away from your comforts and the ones you love over time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the singer, \u201c<em>this visual is the perfect representation of what makes me feel most cared for and comfortable, and what I was writing about when I was homesick in New York in the winter: the comfort of a green garden and support from people at home<\/em>\u201d.
