{"id":54371,"date":"2020-06-24T12:58:35","date_gmt":"2020-06-24T11:58:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/?p=54371"},"modified":"2021-09-15T17:51:30","modified_gmt":"2021-09-15T15:51:30","slug":"sun-ra-arkestra-new-album","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/sun-ra-arkestra-new-album\/","title":{"rendered":"Sun Ra Arkestra announce first studio album in 20 years"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">This October,&nbsp;Sun Ra Arkestra&nbsp;are releasing their first new studio album in over 20 years on Strut Records.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Led by 96-year-old saxophonist Marshall Allen &#8211; longtime leader of the orchestra &#8211; the cosmic jazz prophets have announced their first studio album since 1999\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Song for the Sun<\/em> recorded at the Rittenhouse Soundworks studios in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To preview the album, Sun Ra Arkestra shared a rework of \u201cSeductive Fantasy\u201d, a track that originally appeared on the 1979 album&nbsp;<em>On Jupiter<\/em>. The song comes with an animated video created by Canadian musician Chad Van Gaalen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A new album that will include original songs, which complements an impressive discography of more than 200 albums.
