 Originally from the Kiwalani district of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania\u2019s largest city, Mario Swagga began performing at street parties in 2009. While performing in the streets, Mario was named by the crowd in honour of footballer Mario Balotelli because on stage he had the same self-confidence and attitude. As his reputation grew, Mario began performing at events organized by Clouds FM and in 2016 he was crowned the number one Singeli singer in Dar es Salaam at the Fiesta Singeri Michano.DJ Silila also comes from the Kiwalani district. Like other Singeli DJs, he creates music in Virtual DJ software where he cuts, loops and accelerates fragments of old Tanzanian records, generating a totally new and unique sound experience. However, DJ Silila\u2019s beats are characterized by their joy and cheerfulness which, combined with extremely high BPMs, make one think of happy hardcore when hearing his Afro-futuristic tracks.On the track \u201cRoho Inauma\u201d, the producer cuts, loops, assembles and accelerates excessively fragments of old Tanzanian records, building a playground without limits for his friend Mario.  The two complementary acolytes impose themselves as actors to follow of the singeli phenomenon with their joyful and unifying style, a kind of happy hardcore vision of the concept of Afro-futurism.The EP will be released on June 3, 2020 by Basy Tropikalne.
