The masked duo mixes the psychedelic sounds of South America and Afro-Peruvian traditions in a bass music rich in references. To crown this decade of existence and as a tribute to their third album Zenit & Nadir released last year on Enchufada, they release the Humos EP trilogy, with a total of 21 tracks remastered and available on vinyl for the first time.

Rafael explains the purpose of the approach: “The main idea behind these EPs is to reflect the type of sound you can hear in our shows. All of these tracks have been essential in our shows at one time or another.” Tested and approved on the dancefloor, these tracks cover the different phases of the project. He continues: “There are tracks from the cumbia/dub era with ‘Chotrón’ or the remix of Super Grupo Colombia, others from the zouk/batida period like ‘Lokumba’ or ‘Turbo’. Also, there are more Afro-Peruvian-oriented tracks, like the remixes of Zambo Cavero or Chabuca Granda.” Like a mini-retrospective, these three EPs give an idea of the vast universe covered by the tandem, while engraving these tracks with sentimental value on a noble support. “I think we’ve chosen the tracks we’ve always imagined playing on vinyl.
