An anticipated release to salute the memory of the giant Nigerian drummer who passed recently.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-very-dark-gray-color\">The music world is still mourning&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/tony-allen-death\/\">the death of Tony Allen<\/a>, the boss of Afrobeat and huge Nigerian drum player who passed away on May 2, 2020. In response, the British group&nbsp;<em>Gorillaz<\/em>&nbsp;decided to pay him tribute and revealed the track \u201cHow Far\u201d, recorded in the Londoner studios a few days before the Lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-very-dark-gray-color\">A dark piece in which the rapper Skepta, pioneer of the Drill movement is kicking some&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/genius.com\/19736082\">shady lyrics<\/a>, haunted by Tony Allen\u2019s laugh in the background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8221; Don\u2019t know who they\u2019re tryna scare<\/p><p> Looked at the man in the mirror, that\u2019s the only enemy that I fear<\/p><p> A zombie knows who to frighten <\/p><p> Just know I love the action, but I move in silence&nbsp;&#8221;  <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-very-dark-gray-color\">Here, Skepta, with his quick phrasing typical of Drill and Grime, is referring to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/pan-african-music.com\/en\/5-nigerian-classic-albums-of-the-70s\/\">\u201c<em>Zombie\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;Album<\/a>&nbsp;from 1976 in which Fela denounced the brutality of police repression that occurred in Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Long time friends but also appearing on each other\u2019s projects, Damon Albarn and Tony Allen had collaborated multiple times in the past. Allen\u2019s death precipitating things, this posthumous track is Albarn\u2019s tribute to Tony\u2019s enormous talent and influence on the music world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"How Far?
