Cassius Marcellus Clay also known as\u00a0Mohamed Ali passed out last night, aged 74.
\nHis talent, the way he expressed himself and his gift of the gad will remain.\u00a0\u00a0And especially his activism : for civil rights, Black cause in the world, against the Vietnam War\u00a0\u00a0(“No vietcong ever called me a nigger” he said), his happiness to “find again” Africa\u00a0for boxing competition\u00a0\u00a0facing\u00a0the world\u00a0champion on\u00a0october, 30th 1974 … For all these reasons, this man\u00a0was complete, straight\u00a0and a model.<\/p>\n

And then, music of course\u00a0: Ali used to dance on the\u00a0ring, and was disturbing his opponents. An again, music was playing for the famous fight in\u00a0Kinshasa. An exceptionnal music\u00a0festival was supposed to open the fight. \u00a0Foreman was hurt, le so the fight was delayed but\u00a0concerts did happen. The best of soul\u00a0and american\u00a0rythm’n blues artists were there\u00a0: James Brown, BB King, The Spinners, The Crusaders, les saleseros de la Fania All Stars with\u00a0Johnny Pacheco and\u00a0Celia Cruz, Myriam Makeba, Manu Di Bango, and of course\u00a0Franco & l’OK Jazz and\u00a0Tabu Ley……<\/p>\n

Music, sport, politics,\u00a0everything was happenning and\u00a0Ali was the star of these\u00a0weeks in Zaire\u00a0because he knew how to\u00a0punching, talking, and dancing ! \u00a0Trio Madjesi<\/strong>\u00a0celebrated\u00a0Ali’s victory with the song : Huiti\u00e8me round<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Because at this moment, the King of the ring\u00a0chose to knock the giant Foreman out.<\/p>\n

Rest in peace Ali.<\/p>\n
