At that time, the train from Senegal to Mali was an adventure. At the beginning its was an mean for colonization, and the it became a symbol of independance.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.la-breche.com\/catalog\/images\/1135.jpg\" alt=\"Afficher l'image d'origine\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>In 1947-48, railway workers of Western French Africa were on\u00a0strike. In\u00a0Bamako, this golden age was embodied by\u00a0the\u00a0<strong>Rail Band<\/strong>\u00a0from the &#8220;Buffet-Hotel de la Gare&#8221;, where\u00a0<strong>Salif Keita<\/strong>\u00a0started and where\u00a0<strong>Mory Kant\u00e9<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Djelimady Tounkara <\/strong>played.<br \/>\nToday, the highline Dakar-Bamako is in bad shape. Privatised in 2003, a new agreement has been signed end of 2015, with\u00a0China to renew the line.
