Malian diva will release her new album the 19 May via parisian record label No Format<\/a>.<\/h3>\n

After a break of eight years, Oumou Sangar\u00e9<\/strong> announced her come back with a new album, Mogoya (meaning \u2018people today\u2019). First single ‘Yere Faga’ was recorded with Tony Allen<\/strong> and had receive a breathtaking music video<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Oumou releases today ‘Kamelemba’,\u00a0<\/em>the album’ second single. Like the first one, we are immediatly struck by the minimalist bassline which serves as foundations for this progressive song. It also\u00a0features Sangar\u00e9\u2019s long-standing and trusted Kamel N\u2019goni player, Benogo Diakit\u00e9<\/strong>, alongside young Malian guitar player Guimba Kouyat\u00e9<\/strong>. The\u00a0<\/span>French production collective A.l.b.e.r.t.<\/strong> (who have also worked with Air<\/strong>, Beck<\/strong> and Franz Ferdinand<\/strong>) have added drum, bass and keyboards to give the track a new modernity and to emphasise the raw power of Oumou\u2019s voice. <\/span><\/p>\n
