Follow by the whole world, gqom quickly go over South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>At first listen, it might not appear that Gqom\u2019s minimalist, bass-heavy sound would take Lwazi Asanda Gwala from Clermont township in Durban to commanding dancefloors in Europe and Asia. But DJ Lag\u2019s superb production skills have played a big part in transforming a sub-genre of house \u2013 one that began by soundtracking taxi trips around Durban \u2013 to an enviably innovative participant in the global scene.<\/p>\n<p>Since he first surfaced several years ago, DJ Lag has played several major South African events, including the 2015 Johannesburg-leg of Boiler Room, and the 2016 Cape Town Electronic Music Festival. \u201cI believe gqom will be way bigger than deep house,\u201d DJ Lag says of the genre that he\u2019s leading.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DJ Lag Favourites Tracks:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f2c94c;\"><strong>The favourite warm-up track to open a DJ set with<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong> \u201c<a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/senzo-mhlongo\/naked-boyz-ithoyizi-tonicvolts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ithoyizi<\/a>\u201d by Naked Boyz<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\">&#8220;This is my warm up track because it was the first gqom track that got popular in South Africa and most of other producers were influenced by this track in many of they tracks.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f2c94c;\"><strong>The best track of my favourite Durban&#8217;s newcomer\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong> \u201c<a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nlKxzGng_Pw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Isalvo<\/a>\u201d by Cruel Boyz<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\">&#8220;This is my favourite track by new artists coming out of my hometown from the gqom scene. This track is picking up attention and crowds go wild for it.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f2c94c;\"><strong>The best house music Track I&#8217;m playing constantly at peak time<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong> \u201c<a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/1icfcMlCeWkhpK9aeZY49R\">Minnie<\/a>\u201d by DJ Bongz<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\">&#8220;This is a great house track that I&#8217;ve been playing since 2012, and it never goes wrong in Durban clubs because it&#8217;s a classic singalong track.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f2c94c;\"><strong>The best rap track I&#8217;m mixing who blends perfectly with a gqom track<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong> \u201c<a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=W-ADxrqcyxY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Run Jozi<\/a>\u201d by AKA ft. K.O.<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\">&#8220;This track blends so nicely with gqom. Sometimes i play the vocals as an interlude first before I put on the original track, then the Gqom track on top. It&#8217;s a perfect combo.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f2c94c;\"><strong>The best kwaito track to make people dancing \u00a0<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong> \u201c<a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/JmQMjNbPhMg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Umlilo<\/a>\u201d by Big Nuz<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\">&#8220;This track is huge in South Africa, it was song of the year in 2010, and it\u2019s still going strong.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f2c94c;\"><strong>The best new track (all genres) I jam with<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong> \u201c<a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/l_lblj8Cq0o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">No Limits<\/a>\u201d by G-Eazy<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\">&#8220;This track is being played by every dj who plays multiple genres because it connects with everyone and it&#8217;s a big tune right now around the world.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f2c94c;\"><strong>Dj Lag Favourite Tracks<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>\u201c<a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/azU-Plw7YfU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Umshudo<\/a>\u201d or \u201c<a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/9ycr4BI8I94\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ice Drop<\/a>\u201d by DJ Lag<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\">&#8220;Every time I open a set with either of those tracks, the crowd goes crazy.
