We can define him as a musical activist. With his label Gqom Oh!, he contributes&nbsp;to&nbsp;the Durban&#8217;s sound&nbsp;success and expansion around the world. Nan has always been a voice for cultural exchanges. He also manage Soupu Music label since 2010, gathering a large roster of African and European artists. Recently, he released an EP on Bristol Black Acre&#8217;s imprint Laumz.<\/p>\n<p>Gqom is already an important connexion point between different music genres.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #f2c94c;\">The favourite warm-up track to open a DJ set with<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong> &#8220;<a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UR6jg_vTI0o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Darbuka Tribe (Tribe Dance)<\/a>&#8221;&nbsp;by Dominowe<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the previous years, I mostly did Gqom DJ set. This track is one of my favourite to open set but obviously it depends on what kind of audience and in what kind of contest you are playing, sometimes you need a warming up track, sometimes you just have to start with a banger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #f2c94c;\">The best track of my favourite Durban&#8217;s newcomer&nbsp;<\/span><br \/>\n&#8220;<a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BRv69UE_38o&amp;feature=youtu.be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Shut up and Groove (Remake)<\/a>&#8221;&nbsp;by Dj Raybel<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are so many newcomers from Durban but one artist who can do very well in the near future is Dj Raybel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #f2c94c;\">The best house music Track I&#8217;m playing constantly at peak time<\/span><br \/>\n&#8220;<a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ifyH2dHXkFI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ree&#8217;s Vibe<\/a>&#8221;&nbsp;by Griffit Vigo<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not playing house music at the moment but this is my peak time track right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #f2c94c;\">The best rap track I&#8217;m mixing who blends perfectly with a gqom track<\/span><br \/>\n&#8220;<a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=PEGccV-NOm8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bodak Yellow<\/a>&#8221;&nbsp;by Cardi B or &#8220;<a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=geDN6wA8t7o&amp;feature=youtu.be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Functions On The Low<\/a>&#8221;&nbsp;by Ruff Sqwad<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I\u2019m playing in Durban I\u2019ll probably blend a trap song with a gqom one and it can be a classic like Cardi\u2019s \u201cBodak Yellow\u201d. In London last Saturday at our Gqom Oh! Party&nbsp;I blended a sgubhu track from&nbsp;<em>Forgotten Souls<\/em>&nbsp;with Ruff Sqwad\u2019s \u201cFunctions on the low\u201d\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #f2c94c;\">The best kwaito track to make people dancing &nbsp;<\/span><br \/>\n&#8220;<a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fbaTru3Sldo&amp;feature=youtu.be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Choose<\/a>&#8221; by Character<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not really an expert of Kwaito but&nbsp;\u201cChoose\u201d is&nbsp;a track which I\u2019m particularly attached to. It reminds me when&nbsp;I started this journey in South African music in 2009.
