He left his former label last year to start More Grace Music, his own creative enterprise, MoreGrace Music World, where he is working on his debut album.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">Skiibii\u2019s most recent song, \u2018<a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BQrcAISHCmY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sensima<\/a>\u2019 is a save experimentation with new sounds and it\u2019s currently enjoying waves. In this interview, he opens up about his music and plans.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #eb5757;\"><b><br \/>\nCan you start by telling me about your name, Skiibii?<\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">Skiibii means \u2018a smart and sharp person\u2019. My Uncle gave me the name, he used to call me \u2018Omo to Skiibii\u2019, so when I asked, he said it means \u2018a sharp and smart person\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><b><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #eb5757;\">You have a new song, \u2018Sensima\u2019 with Reekado Banks, what does Sensima mean?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">Sensima is a slang. It refers to when something is on point. It\u2019s a slang down here.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #eb5757;\"><b><br \/>\nIs there going to be a video for Sensiima?<\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">Of course, yes, there is going to be a video. We are working on it, no date yet but definitely we are going to have a video for it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=buyJnvstlAQ<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><b><span style=\"color: #eb5757;\"><br \/>\nWhen did you record your first song?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">Officially, it was 2015. It was with Five Star Music.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><b><span style=\"color: #eb5757;\"><br \/>\nYou have songs for the dance floor, is that what your music is about?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">I have like three to four songs that are dancehall songs. I have some other kind of songs, I have a love song, I have inspirational songs like \u2018Aiye Mii\u2019. \u2018Aiye Mii\u2019 is inspirational, a prayer song, you know, encouraging my people and praying for the people for supporting me and thanking God for my life, that\u2019s another kind of sound.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><b><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #eb5757;\">How will you describe your music?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">Good music.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><b><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #eb5757;\">Who do you think is the best producer in Africa?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">There is a lot of them that are very good. I am going to mention more than one, Del B, Maestro, they are both very good, the guy that produced this my last song, Chizzy, we also have the likes of Young John, we have Pheelz Mr producer and many more. If I want to keep up I am just gonna go on and on.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><b><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #eb5757;\">Why did you leave Five Star Music?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">It\u2019s not for a fight or quarrel, I think I have grown to that level where I think I should have my own record label and I want to stay on my own. I have this mutual agreement between me and my CEO, E-Money and Kcee, we spoke about this. I even spoke with E-Money yesterday and to be very honest, me and Kcee spoke today and we suppose to see next tomorrow. We are on good terms, no problem, no fight.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><b><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #eb5757;\">So, you have your own label now?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">Yes, which is More Grace Music.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><b><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #eb5757;\">You are planning to sign an artist soon?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">Yes, when I am ready. For now, we focus on Skiibii.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><b><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #eb5757;\">When are you going to release your debut album?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">Probably next year. We are working on it.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><b><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #eb5757;\">Which artiste would you like to work with?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">I have songs with some people that are not even out yet. I have worked with Wizkid but it\u2019s not out yet, I have worked with a lot of people but I still have a lot of people I want to work with like Wande Coal and a lot of them. It\u2019s a good vibe actually, everybody is talented in their own field. I would like to work with 2face too, I am just working on that.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><b><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #eb5757;\">What do you think about the music scene in Nigeria right now?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">It\u2019s booming, it\u2019s different from how it used to be, everything now makes sense.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><b><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #eb5757;\">And the new sounds?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333333;\">Sensima is a different sound totally when you listen, a lot of people are now trying to sample that sound because the sound is different, if you listen to it well, you can\u2019t actually place it on any sound right now.
