The EP is a singular and contemporary blend between footwork, trap, grime and east-african rhythms. He flips a variety of contemporary underground African club styles and bass music codes into an\u00a0abstract and\u00a0fascinating combination.<\/p>\n<p>Listen to &#8220;Kyokai&#8221;, first excerpt of the project, a footwork-ish banger channelling syncopated drums, hi-hat rolls and dancehall vocal samples.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/album=2013734626\/size=large\/bgcol=ffffff\/linkcol=0687f5\/tracklist=false\/artwork=small\/transparent=true\/\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" seamless=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"><a href=\"http:\/\/hakunakulala.bandcamp.com\/album\/tomo\">Tomo by Slikback<\/a><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Based in Kampala, Uganda, Slikback has originated Hakuna Kulala, Nyege Nyege Tapes&#8217; sister label, in collaboration with artists Don Zilla and Rey Sapienz. The label&#8217;s next release will be Don Zilla&#8217;s first EP,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/hakunakulala.bandcamp.com\/album\/from-the-cave-to-the-world\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>From the Cave to the World.<\/em><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>After his first european tour last year, with a well-noticed appearance at <span style=\"color: #333333;\"><a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/unsound\/unsound-podcast-slikback\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Unsound Festival<\/a><\/span> in Poland, the young producer keeps on suprizing with his sonic experimentations.<\/p>\n<p><em>Tomo\u00a0<\/em>will be out on february 1st on\u00a0Hakuna Kulala.
