Stroke by Apartheid during his youth, he would later be part of the musicians invited to play at Nelson Mandela\u2019s\u00a0taking office ceremony in 1994.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/album=3005780043\/size=large\/bgcol=ffffff\/linkcol=0687f5\/tracklist=false\/artwork=small\/transparent=true\/\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" seamless=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"><a href=\"http:\/\/abdullahibrahim.bandcamp.com\/album\/the-balance\">The Balance by Abdullah Ibrahim<\/a><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>T<\/em><em>he Balance<\/em>\u00a0follows his last LP\u00a0<em>The Song is My Story<\/em>, released in\u00a02014. This new effort was recorded with his long-time septet Ekaya, and embodies his visions of jazz.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe push ourselves out of our comfort zones. So that we can present to the listener our striving for excellence. So that we can engage with our listeners without any barriers of our ego. It\u2019s not jazz.
