Led by\u00a0Damon Albarn<\/a>, the music collective’s new project features<\/span>\u00a0South African and European artists such as\u00a0BCUC<\/a><\/span>,\u00a0Otim Alpha<\/a><\/span>\u00a0(Nyege Nyege<\/a><\/span>),\u00a0Pot\u00e9<\/a><\/span>,\u00a0Dominowe\u00a0and\u00a0DJ Spoko<\/a><\/span>.<\/h5>\n

Created in 2006, Africa Express<\/a><\/span>\u00a0just announced\u00a0Egoli<\/em>,\u00a0new release to be out on July 12th. Recorded in seven days in a South African studio, the 18 tracks channel several influences though the many collaborations it features.<\/p>\n

“Egoli”\u00a0means “Golden City”\u00a0in Xhosa language, one of the official South African languages, and is a term used to designate Johannesburg. The first excerpt from the album is precisely called “Johannesburg”, featuring Gruff Rhys\u00a0from the Super Furry Animals\u00a0and notorious South African artists\u00a0Morena Leraba<\/a><\/span>, Radio 123\u00a0and Sibot on a boom-bap instrumental with nostalgic synths.<\/p>\n
