Through a series of singles and EPs, they have dealt with a bunch of topics related to the emergency of the situation in their country, paving the way for the upcoming album.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/l-HkrXhlenM\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br style=\"clear: both;\" \/><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Their own instruments as well\u00a0as with the classic 808 drum machine,\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> their distorted polyrhythms and spontaneous lo-fi sounds<\/span>\u00a0have forged their own genre, dubbed \u2018tekno kintueni\u2019 or \u201czagu\u00e9\u201d (\u2018kintueni&#8217; is a Congolese rhythm\/dance), embodied by their new single available, &#8220;Buka Dansa&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c &#8220;Buka Dansa&#8221; means \u2018dance till it breaks\u2019, or \u2018break the dance\u2019 and Dido sings<br \/>\nthe song on a synthetic rhythm, where the riff from a self-made guitar moves<br \/>\nwith the melodies. The lyrics are psychedelic, and remember what\u2019s good in<br \/>\nlife &#8211; putting that feeling parallel with a nice taste passing into your throat, like<br \/>\nsmoke, a digestion of good moments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fongola\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a necessary debut album<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a chaotic soundtrack to\u00a0a troubled time and day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Fongola<\/em>\u00a0out on July 5th on Transgressive Records.
