For the first time since its 1990 release, the 25th album from avant-gardist saxophonist Pharoah Sanders reissued on limited vinyl by Tidal Waves Music.<\/h4>\n

The 6 tracks LP\u00a0may have originally disappointed some of\u00a0Sanders’ fans, but with time he has gained in notoriety with his\u00a0reinvented style as a more traditional improviser capable of thoughtful and pensive deliberations. Recorded in France in 1989,\u00a0Sanders plays here with an all-star line-up consisting of Stafford James on bass, William Henderson on piano and Eddie Moore on drums.<\/p>\n

On this album, the legendary saxophonist clearly reinvented himself as a more traditional improviser, capable of thoughtful and pensive deliberations. Catchy mystical New Age vocals, astrological references\u2026 Pharoah may remain an acquired taste, but few jazzmen can equal his unique formula of mastering the \u2018groove\u2019.<\/p>\n

This edition comes packaged as a deluxe 180 gram LP and is limited to 500 copies worldwide (with obi strip).\u00a0Moon Child<\/em>\u00a0follows Tidal Wave\u2019s reissue of Pharoah Sanders\u2019\u00a0Africa<\/em>\u00a0LP earlier this year.<\/p>\n
